For me, this past trip to Nicaragua was like seeing a missing puzzle piece falling into place. Nicaragua is a country to which I have deep commitments and, more importantly, a deep love. I lived and served there from 2003-2006 and have returned several times since to visit and re-connect. But no return visit has been as meaningful as this past trip has been.

Nicaragua is a unique country in the family of nations. It is my firm belief that God has a unique calling for this nation – a Great Commission calling which is only now beginning to be realized by its young leaders. As such, it is an honor and a privilege to have a part in the mentoring and discipleship of many young Nicaraguan leaders. This was the purpose of the trip – to continue to invest in Great Commission disciple-making relationships with passionate and capable young leaders. Well of Grace, by Aaron Hershberger

Aaron Hershberger

Have you ever felt like every decision you make the Lord completely agrees with?  Or maybe the opposite?  I find it amazing how the Lord leads and directs us with such a high level of patience and grace.  While we all operate under God’s grace, wouldn’t it be amazing if we could tap in to a deeper well of grace and keep a steady flow going?

While in Nicaragua, our US Team – (Scott, Yuri, Greg, Luke, and myself) found ourselves, together with our Nica team – (Ixil Borter Torrez, Jairo Miranda, Pablo Altamirano, Earl Rutledge, and others I am probably missing) being caught up in this flow of grace and it was awesome!

The Nica Young Leaders Retreat held at Bigfoot Hostel in Las Penitas, Leon was a great start to this style of event.  Scott and others in our group have held many youth events and conferences over the years, many of them impactful and captivating large audiences.  This retreat was designed to be smaller in hopes that the group would be able to engage on a personal level with the Lord and each other. 1Mexico2014 Trip Report – Puebla

Upon arrival at Esperanza Viva in Puebla, we settled into what would be  our home for the next five days, happy to get a longer than normal pause in road life.  Nineteen eager students awaited us, and the class to come the next morning, no doubt having heard of what to expect from our team… We have had the privilege of being here for most of the generations of La Viña in the last ten years, the school of ministry that is an significant part of Living Hope International's efforts to prepare the emerging generation for life and ministry in Mexico and beyond.  Over the next two days, training in personal words came in the form of practicals, both in the demonstration and the testing.  A young family was visiting, about to leave to return to the States, having much of their heart inseparably connected.  We turned the full encouragement power of the class in their direction.   Tears were abundant all around, as was love, which never fails. 1Mexico2014 Trip Report – Oaxaca

Arriving in DF, Mexico City we met Job (yes, like the biblical character) Rojas in the airport and commenced to making a long day and night of getting to our initial destination, thanks to a little game of surprise from the rent car company.  WOW.  With the help of our hosts in Oaxaca who had a couple of suggestions, we were one subway ride, two bus rides, and a car ride away, arriving in Oaxaca City 13 hours after landing in DF.  But hey, we made it to Raco's house.
