Leadership requires two things: ‘A version of the world that does not yet exist and the ability to communicate it.

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.

For the saint, direction and guidance come from God Himself, not some measure of that saint's usefulness. It is the work that God does through us that counts, not what we do for Him.

The key to the missionary's work is the authority of Jesus Christ, not the needs of the lost.
