Lord liberate us, Your Church, from the officiate / spectate model of ministry! It has died, through a slow and painful death process.
should we use our limited time and resource to defend the past, or build the future?
preparing the way of the Lord is a work that uses the current time to invest in that which is yet to come….
now, it doesn't seem to me that most, or even many people are sitting around devising ways to defend the past, as keepers of this form as sacrosanct
rather, it seems that as these are the ways we have been taught, we have learned, and that these models of ministry in that they are the form of ministry that are being modeled(almost without rival!). Continue reading “liberate us”
We are translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of the Beloved Son when we come to faith in Jesus. Instantly, we are citizens of the heavenly kingdom, and have become strangers and foreigners in the earth. Before this, we were citizens of the age, and trapped in the kingdom of darkness. Believing, you become a citizen of God's domain, positioned behind enemy lines. We walk in faith that does not originate in the natural realm while awaiting the invading force led by the rightful ruler of this world, Jesus Christ, to come and dispossess the trespassing regime from their entrenched position in the earth. Have you considered what your core contribution is? No doubt this would be in concert with your talents and with the grace that is available to you. Sometimes we think that we can do anything. This is unrealistic.
God gives each us specific grace and talents for specific objectives and responsibilities.
I want to encourage you to spend some time thinking about your core contribution. What could it be? What should it be?
The LORD will make your life consequential as you follow Him. A part of following Him, following Wisdom, is to not to run wildly, or swing randomly, but to focus your life and your resources for maximum impact. God will show you how to focus on His grace and what He has imparted to you in a way that will accomplish maximum results. This kind of life is pleasing to God.
Is the waiting of the creation mentioned in Romans going to continue until our Lord's return? I think maybe so. Why? Because when we see Him, we will be like Him. Will we be manifested for who we really are in this time when we have no certain dwelling place? We need to work to sort this out, and understand it fully.
A good bit of the teaching about us receiving our inheritance in this life focuses on our gain, our importance, our fulfillment. Who will dare, in the midst of our culture of indulgence, dare to live like Jesus? Continue reading “Creation Awaits”
